A graduate of the Roxas Memorial College of Arts and Trades (now Aklan State University - College of Industrial Technology) with the degree, Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology (BSIT), major in Food Technology was named again the 2015 American Culinary Federation (ACF) Southeast Region Pastry Chef of the Year on January 10, 2015 in St. Augustine, Florida, USA after the competition at the ACF Southeast Region Culinary Salon in Le Cordon Blue College of Culinary Arts, Atlanta, Tucker, Georgia.

Rodrigo Domingono Nunez, Jr. who graduated his baccalaureate degree from RMCAT currently works as executive pastry chef at Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando, Orlando, Florida, USA. He finished his associate degree in culinary arts from The Arts Institute of Colorado, Denver. Prior to his latest employment, he has worked in different hotels and resorts in the Philippines and the U.S. as the Manila Diamond Hotel, MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, and Flamingo Las Vegas, Las Vegas. In 2011, he received a silver medal at ACF's USA Culinary Cup Challenge, and his first ACF Southeast Region Pastry Chef of the Year in 2013.

The ACF Pastry Chef of the Year Award was established in 2004 and sponsored by Plugra European-Style Butter. It is given to a pastry chef "who has displayed a passion for the craft, has an accomplished reputation in the pastry field and has given back through the education of others by sharing his or her skills and knowledge."

The American Culinary Federation, Inc. (ACF), established in 1929, is the standard of excellence for chefs in North America, with nearly 20,000 members from 200 chapters in the US. It operates the most comprehensive certification program for chefs in the United States.
